Hear From Our Graduates

“Being far away from home I was able to make a new family of my own here at Jersey College. From friends, colleagues, and instructors who were all caring to one another.”

- Fadila B., LPN Program Graduate

" One and done! Proud to say I passed every class, clinical, and the NCLEX! Thank you to all the people who supported me along the way. To future nurses - you got this because you are stronger than you think!"
"I graduated from here 3 years ago after being an LPN for 25 years and it was the best decision I ever made. I am now 3 courses away from my MSN in Nursing Education and Adult-Gerontology NP! Thank You Jersey College!"
“I thank all the amazing instructors and staff at the Largo campus that prepared me for this wonderful opportunity. I graduated a year ago and endless possibilities are knocking at my door since. I’m so excited and couldn’t be happier. Thank you Jersey College!”
"I've had a lot of challenges throughout nursing school but that didn't stop my dream of becoming a nurse. I've trained tirelessly and passionately throughout my entire journey. I want to thank each of you who supported and encouraged me."
“Life is the biggest party you'll ever be at, this is the second! I had a memorable commencement. I received a Daisy Award nomination for patient care. I will proudly wear my Daisy pin and practice as an LPN every day in this way. Thank you, Jersey College, for your extraordinary help and spirit in my venture to become a nurse.”
“The road here wasn't easy, but no matter the circumstances, I continued to go after and reach my goal. I am truly proud of this moment in my life.”
"To all of those treading the path behind us, ask yourself, 'How bad do I want this?' and just keep pushing yourself forward, one step at a time. I had to be reminded over and over that I could do it and I did it! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give up!"
"I graduated from Jersey College 7 years ago to become an LPN. I thank Jersey College for my nursing foundation as this year I completed my MSN and am now a licensed FNP-BC!"
"At the age of 5, I knew I wanted to be a nurse. I’ve sacrificed so many things to become who I am today. Jersey College is amazing. The teachers are so supportive, they are always in your corner rooting for you. I attended the Fort Lauderdale campus as an LPN and left an RN. You're next!"

“The school isn’t like your regular college where you’re just a number; you get to know everyone of your instructors as well as the Dean of students and the program chairs. All of them are completely dedicated to getting you through the program.”

"My experience at Jersey College of Nursing started as an LPN student. The medical field was completely foreign to me but I had always been interested in helping people. I had heard about the school from a friend who had just applied and encouraged me to check it out. Right from the start, when I had walked through the doors, I felt like I was at home. From the way the school welcomed you and helped you through the admissions process to graduation day. The school isn’t like your regular college where you’re just a number; you get to know everyone of your instructors as well as the Dean of students and the program chairs. All of them are completely dedicated to getting you through the program. Don’t get me wrong, you have to work to pass, but when you know that everyone is behind you, pushing you, cheering you on, it gives you the motivation to keep going even when you feel like you can’t read another page of your text book or take another test.

After graduating the LPN program I decided to go further and earn my RN license as soon as possible. I could have applied for several schools that were closer to my home (I commute an hour each way daily) but I didn’t because Jersey College of Nursing isn’t like family, they are family. The instructors and staff make coming to school interesting and fun. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else to get my education and training.

The 15 months flew by and I have full confidence in myself and my abilities to be a nurse. I know I will make a great nurse and that’s because of this school and its awesome staff."

“As a student, I just want to tell you that there is no institution like Jersey College."

"It is an honor to be a Jersey College graduate. I have come out of this experience stronger than I have ever been in my life. After a journey of 20 years, I am 40 years old and I have accomplished a dream that I never thought I could. As a student, I just want to tell you that there is no institution like Jersey College. This is the best place for excellence and accelerating yourself to a higher level and a higher purpose."

"I completed the program on a high note and passed my NCLEX with no problems. I then began my search for a job as a nurse and was hired for two positions."

"I am C.J. Wesseh, a 2014 graduate of the Practical Nursing Program at Jersey College. During my enrollment, I was ultra-focused and worked hard to be successful. I completed the program on a high note and passed my NCLEX with no problems. I then began my search for a job as a nurse and was hired for two positions. On the weekends I work for a nursing agency with trach and vent patients. During the week I work as Lab Coordinator at the Ewing Campus. I love working with the students, setting up the lab for nursing skills training, and also giving extra help to those who need help. I feel like I am contributing immensely to the health care of people and am also able to learn new things while providing for my family. I am grateful for where I am now in my life and career, and I plan on growing in my nursing career by pursuing my RN."

“The instructors at Jersey College are absolutely outstanding, they make it their mission to do everything in their power to pull out your very best potential."

"In the beginning when I made the decision to become a nurse, I only saw nursing as a means of providing for my family. My mother is a nurse and she tried to convince me to follow in her footsteps for years, but I just felt that it wasn’t for me. Until one day I was watching TV and I saw my first Jersey College commercial. Immediately, the commercial caught my attention and before I knew it, I was on the phone with a Jersey College Admissions Representative setting a date to tour the school. Once I visited the school I was completely sold.

Attending Jersey College was one of the BEST decisions I ever made! I recently went through the LPN program and it was such an amazing experience. Not only did I fall in love with this incredible profession, I learned a lot, and I made some really great friends, who became like family to me. The instructors at Jersey College are absolutely outstanding, they make it their mission to do everything in their power to pull out your very best potential. They do this by supporting you, encouraging you, and challenging you in every way possible. Attending Jersey College changed my life and I am extremely grateful that God afforded me the opportunity to be introduced to all these extraordinary people, staff, and instructors at this school.

When I made the decision to pursue my RN, it was definitely a no brainer that I would be going back to Jersey College. I am currently in my first term of the RN program and so far so good. So for all of you seeking to become a nurse and you’re not exactly sure where to begin your journey, I encourage you to come a give Jersey College a try. I promise you it will be a decision that you will not regret!"

“Jersey College School of Nursing has changed my life and my gratitude pours out to each and every individual faculty member and instructor of this institution who have all paved the way for me to achieve my dream."

"I was no stranger to health care coming into Jersey College, but Nursing was unexplored territory for me. I was, however, aware of the academic demands of Nursing and though it was something I always wanted to pursue, I doubted my ability to do so successfully. Despite my lack of confidence, I soon found myself sitting in the middle of a classroom full of unfamiliar faces with a new sphygmomanometer and stethoscope in my hand. A sign on the classroom door read “PN Class – First Term”. That would mark the beginning of my journey in Jersey College.

With each passing term, I grew more confident in my abilities and gained a wealth of nursing and medical knowledge, thanks in no small part due to the brilliant faculty and staff at this amazing institution. The ability of each instructor to tap into the potential of each individual student is unmatched. Twelve months later, I donned my cap and gown and marched as a graduate and as a proud and confident male nurse, a stark contrast to the doubtful young man that sat in that First Term classroom just a year prior.

Jersey College School of Nursing has changed my life and my gratitude pours out to each and every individual faculty member and instructor of this institution who have all paved the way for me to achieve my dream. I am also proud to say that I will be returning to Jersey College in a month’s time to further my education and become an RN."

"I feel the staff at Jersey College has helped mold me to become a greater version of myself and a greater nurse."

"After two years of being a LPN, I decided I wanted to return to school to further my education and advance in the Nursing field. After revealing to my grandmother that I was expecting my first child, she encouraged me to not let it stop me from accomplishing my goals. That day I decided that it was time. In August 2014, I started Jersey College with a 7 month old newborn and soon after a newlywed. This has been the most life changing experience for me.

I feel the staff at Jersey College has helped mold me to become a greater version of myself and a greater nurse. These last 15 months have allowed me to not only challenge myself but also build on a baseline knowledge I already possessed.

I am sharing all of this with you to let you know… it is challenging, it is intense, you will want to give up, BUT it is POSSIBLE, it is REWARDING, and YOU can do it because I did. I am now a Registered Nurse, I have accomplished what I set forth to do and so can you."

“I wanted to become a nurse for six years and after hearing many success stories from my peers and seeing the high NCLEX pass rate, I chose to attend Jersey College. I am now an LPN and have started my career, and I owe my success to Jersey College. I recommend this school to anyone who is interested in nursing. They will prepare you for many challenges you may face as a nurse."

I feel Jersey College more than prepared me for my career.

Some of my most memorable moments from being a student at Jersey College involve instructors. I remember when I was taking an exam and I was so nervous, I felt as if I could not breathe. My instructor, Ms. Jackie, was there to tell me to take a deep breath and gave me some words of encouragement and I felt so much better. Throughout all my semesters, the instructors always offered words of encouragement and always made me feel that they believed in me which helped me believe in myself. Every day at 6:00am, Ms. Molina would give a quote of power, knowledge, and inspiration and I made it a point to read these every day.

There are many great student resources at the Campus. My favorite student resource is student services. They are always available when I need them and they know me by name. I also appreciate the knowledge staff in financial aid and their assistance with any questions I had, Ms. Mitchell is very knowledgeable and helpful.

I feel Jersey College more than prepared me for my career. When I took my NCLEX for my nursing license, it felt easy to me and I passed on my first try. I love what they do at this school and plan to continue my journey here to become an RN."

"I was able to complete the Practical Nursing program and pass the NCLEX on my first try. For this reason I will always be grateful for Jersey College!"

"I am a firm believer that everyone has a specific calling in life. For me I have always felt complete when I am helping other people. Nursing allows me to help others everyday especially when they are at their weakest moment.

Jersey College equipped me with the opportunity, knowledge and skills to prepare me to be the best nurse I can be. The staff is great and they are always willing to lend a helping hand. Although, it was not an easy road by any means, it is the best decision that I made for myself and family. I was able to complete the Practical Nursing program and pass the NCLEX on my first try. For this reason I will always be grateful for Jersey College!”

“My words of encouragement to anyone considering becoming a nurse are: there will always be obstacles, but with hard work there are no limits."

“Nursing has been my passion for as long as I can remember. That being said, the best thing I have ever done was go to Jersey College to inquire about their nursing program. I signed up and started the following the week. For me, acceptance into the program was the easy part - surviving it was the most challenging. It was especially difficult while working two jobs to keep a roof over my head and support my family. Through it all, I learned that challenges make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.

Attending Jersey College showed me that being self-driven by the desire to care is a must, and challenges can be the norm. Many times I was discouraged and felt like giving up. Knowing that I really wanted to be a nurse gave me motivation and reminded me it was everything I wanted.

I passed my Progression exam at the end of the program on the first try. I then passed my boards shortly thereafter. I am now currently enrolled in the RN bridge program continuing my success. My words of encouragement to anyone considering becoming a nurse are: there will always be obstacles, but with hard work there are no limits. At the end no one is going to hand me success, I must go and get it for myself."

"If you are thinking of living the NurseLife it is truly found within these doors."

"I would like to thank all of my Jersey College, School of Nursing family for being there day in and day out of my journey to become a nurse. I was enrolled at another local college but due to certain circumstances I was forced to leave and start fresh where I found my niche at Jersey College. From the moment I walked through those big glass doors for the first time, I felt it was my home away from home – it was right for me.

Along my path, the instructors I had helped to bring forth my "inner nurse". If ever there was a time where the pressure was so high that I felt the battle uphill was too much, there was always an open door and a listening ear with words of wisdom and encouragement to help me get back on track. From the days of first quarter to the day of my last exam, they were there, telling you to believe! To quote one of my most influential people I had the pleasure of entering into my life, Ms. K. Stafford., " You had the drive to come this far, you aren't going to stop now!" I was on the verge of throwing in the towel a couple of times throughout my time at Jersey College, and it must have been written on my face or an invisible sign that only my Program Chair or instructors could see. On those days, they helped me get back in the game.

The pace of study is quick, and it comes at you sometimes like a whirlwind. The curriculum is excellent, and the instructors are phenomenal! If you are thinking of living the NurseLife it is truly found within these doors.

See you soon for the “Bridge”, Jersey :-) love you all!! Special thanks to: Ms. K. Stafford, for keeping her methods of madness and a firm glance when she knew I needed it. To Ms. J. Bertrand for her ever astonishing guidance and infinite wisdom. Ms. S. Johnson for her ever so strict use of punctuality, Mr. K. Peterson for countless real life stories and compassion for all people, Ms. L. Rankin for her profound use of the phrase "look it up" but always making sure we did "look it up" and then awesome explanations on WHY....and Mr. C. Davis, for make sure that our pyramid of learning was topped off with his amazing style and awesome delivery. This was an amazing learning experience. I would recommend Jersey College to anyone interested in becoming a nurse or furthering their career."

Much love Jersey!

“Jersey College has prepared us to go out and shine brightly in this beautiful world."

"Education can be the key to unlocking the world. It can be a passport to freedom – financial freedom and mental freedom, which is a whole new way of thinking.  Yes, it is important to get a job that can support ourselves, our families, and our interests but more importantly we hope we can contribute to our healthcare system by improving it and thus making a difference.

Our lifetime is limited so we don’t want to waste our time living someone else’s dream. We must have the heart and the courage to make our dreams a reality.

Jersey College is the place where dreams come true, the dreams of many students to become registered nurses, but it is not the Magic Kingdom or Disney World. There is no getting around the hard work that’s involved in realizing that dream. At times it may seem overwhelming when you have a 200 question assignment, but start with one question. It is said, a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Get help from teachers and tutors! When you do understand a concept, share it – share the resource, share the APP. Teach someone else. Some say we retain 95% of what we teach someone.

A lamp is the symbol of nursing worldwide, and this means as nurses, we have the privilege of enlightening our families, friends and communities about numerous healthcare issues. Jersey College has prepared us to go out and shine brightly in this beautiful world."

"All staff and faculty at Jersey College ultimately want all students to pass their boards and become successful nurses."

My position as the DON at an Assisted Living Facility requires assessing residents prior to moving into the facility to ensure they meet the criteria. I am also responsible for resident care as well as staffing. I am responsible for communicating between families and physicians regarding the plans of care of our residents. I also make sure that each resident receives their required wound care and medications.

Jersey College prepared me for my career with hands-on experience during my clinicals and simulation labs that were realistic and lifelike, it allowed us a genuine experience before we got out into the real world. My compassion was reinforced by my instructors and peers; we were all there with the same goal in mind. The most interesting event that happened during my enrollment was during my pediatric nursing class. We were tasked with taking vital signs and performing basic first aid at the Children’s Walkathon for Cardiac Health in Jacksonville. We had the opportunity to meet and interact with families of different cultures, talk to the kids, and practice our skills in a real-life situation.

My Advice and tips for future students is to start answering questions as soon as you can – don’t wait until the last quarter. Follow the plan that the school, the teacher, and the course has set. Also, use your resources wisely - especially meeting with your Associate Deans.

“I never thought I would end up working in the nation’s busiest ER saving lives, but here I am. My advice to you: believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable."

"My journey in nursing school was extremely challenging as well as exciting at the same time. I remember thinking this was one of the hardest things that I had ever done, but I was looking for a big change in my career. My mother had always told me anything worth doing wouldn’t come easy and my father continued to remind me, “your hard work will pay off one day.” Having a strong support system can make all the difference when overcoming difficult obstacles in life.

My journey in nursing is ongoing since graduating from The Center for Allied Health (now Jersey College) RN school. I continued on to receive my Bachelors in Nursing, while becoming proficient in my specialty. I am now currently working on my Masters in Nursing, specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner. After passing my NCLEX boards on the first attempt, my RN license brought me many places including working as an RN in Hawaii!

I am proud to say I currently work at Lakeland Regional Health as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Emergency Department which was just awarded the busiest free standing Emergency Department in the nation, for the second consecutive year. Forbes recognized Lakeland Regional Health as one of America’s Best Employers, and for the last few years, Becker's Hospital Review featured Lakeland Regional Health on its list of "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare”.

After all this hard work, I was able to utilize the knowledge and discipline instilled in me by my RN program. I never thought I would end up working in the nation’s busiest ER saving lives, but here I am. My advice to you: believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable."

"I had a wonderful experience in nursing school at Jersey College."

"I had a wonderful experience in nursing school at Jersey College. I have so many memorable times I can share with you. However, the most memorable time was when I was in my first clinical rotation and my first experience with a client who was not a happy camper; she was yelling and telling me to get out, but I hung in there and showed her that I cared. As the days passed she thanked me for taking such good care of her and I will never forget she told me, “I love you". I felt that I made a difference, I helped someone, and I made someone feel good.

By the same token, I chose nursing because I have a passion to care, to help. Just seeing my mother take care of my dear grandmother struggle with chemotherapy and radiation from cancer when I was 12 years old helped me to find my passion, to find my calling, my purpose. Although it took me a long time to get where I am today, through many trials and tribulations that life brings along the way, I made it this far. I look forward to continuing my education and I know that I have what it takes to become a good nurse.  Ultimately, I made it!"

Thank You Jersey College,

Belky Garita –LPN Graduate

“The LPN to RN Bridge program was challenging academically but with the support from my instructors and faculty, I was able to keep moving forward through the terms."

Dear Jersey College,

I’d like to thank you for a positive Nursing School experience, along with preparing me for passing my boards and receiving my RN license. This journey began 15 months ago when I moved from California to Fort Lauderdale. The LPN to RN Bridge program was challenging academically but with the support from my instructors and faculty, I was able to keep moving forward through the terms. The relationships and closeness created with my fellow classmates helped to keep me focused and motivated throughout this journey. We formed study groups, put together study packets for midterms and finals and many times stayed late at school for review session. Being a successful nursing student means working with your classmates, instructors, and administration. When I felt like I couldn’t go any further, the test of success came when I continued on and didn’t give up. I came into this program determined on becoming an R.N. I am pleasantly surprised to have met and made friendships that will continue on in my life.

Thank You, My Jersey College Family

Tanya Paz, R.N

"I had such a great experience at Jersey College. I met great people that are now friends and loved my professors! They taught well and made learning fun!! I just want to say Thank You Jersey College." - Lisa S., PN Grad

“Jersey College not only provided hope and helped me reach my goals, but has also prepared me for my career by providing me with the experience and the knowledge I need to serve and advocate for my patients."

“I was twenty-two years old when I decided that I wanted to become a nurse. I’ve been surrounded by nurses for years. My grandmother, my mother, my aunt and my best friend are nurses. After expressing my goals and interest, they suggested that I looked into nursing. I remember searching for nursing programs near me and being faced with long two year waiting lists. The wait made me feel discouraged and I began to lose hope in meeting my goals to become a nurse. A couple years later my mother found out about Jersey College’s Professional Nursing program, where she enrolled and successfully graduated. The support that she received from the staff and the experience that she gained, made me feel confident enough to enroll in the Practical Nursing program. On my first day of clinical I fell in love with the profession. The new experience made me feel excited and I was eager to learn more. Throughout the program I learned so much about patient care and advocating for my patients.

My most memorable moment throughout the program was when I passed the Progression Exam on the first try. It was at the moment that I realize that I knew more than I thought I knew. There were so many resources throughout the program. There were Fridays designated for students that needed additional help. There’s a great student lounge, a spacious computer lab, and an outstanding simulation lab that allows students to practice and perfect their skills before being placed in a real life environment. My favorite student resource is the computer lab. I have the opportunity to explore the library online and complete my assignments.

The program wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. After completing the program I felt accomplished. I worked so hard, and my hard work did pay off. My determination contributed to my success. I refused to give up; there were many long nights of studying. Answering Prep U questions online were the most helpful study habits for me. My instructors made a major impact on my education. Ms.Wheeler made sure I understood the information, Mr.Dufresne challenged me, Mrs.Quinn was very patient with me and Mrs.Hill refused to let me give up.

I would recommend Jersey College to others because this college has a team of supporters that is compassionate and understanding. They are here for you and they are full of knowledge. My advice for future students is to ask questions. The staff is full of answers. Jersey College is surrounded with staff members that are knowledgeable and helpful; they are always more than willing to help. If you don’t understand a subject ask every instructor until you find an instructor that can explain it in a way that you will understand. Use your resources. The library has a variety of books with great explanations, the computer lab has internet and a printer that you can use to print out the power points, and there’s a student lounge that you can use to study with your classmates. Jersey College not only provided hope and helped me reach my goals, but has also prepared me for my career by providing me with the experience and the knowledge I need to serve and advocate for my patients.”

“We as nurses will make an impact every single day in the lives of people in our community."

"It seems unimaginable that just a year ago, this journey was beginning and we were all strangers sitting in a classroom. We’ve been through so much and a lot of us have formed very close friendships and we have learned to rely on one another as needed. We have learned so much this year! Perhaps the most important thing we’ve learned this year is about compassion for our patients. We as nurses will make an impact every single day in the lives of people in our community. We are the voice of the voiceless and the advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves. We are a helping hand in our community and by helping one person we are making the world a better place one patient at a time. Thank you Jersey College for this opportunity. Find your purpose in life, stick with it, go for it and never give up until you are successful!"

"It has always been my dream to become a nurse since I was a little girl in the hospital fighting my own battles. I never thought I could actually do it. One day I decided it was time for me to bet on myself and take that leap of faith. Enrolling in Jersey College’s Nurse Residency Program, was the best decision I ever could have made for myself! The faculty treats you like family and celebrates your successes as if they were their own!"

"My journey to Jersey College was never a straightforward one, there were many winding roads that led me here. It has always been my dream to become a nurse since I was a little girl in the hospital fighting my own battles. I never thought I could actually do it. One day I decided it was time for me to bet on myself and take that leap of faith. Enrolling in Jersey College’s Nurse Residency Program, was the best decision I ever could have made for myself! The faculty treats you like family and celebrates your successes as if they were their own! Any time I needed additional tutoring or someone to talk to there was always someone available. I was afforded the opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico on a nursing mission trip with students from all different campuses. This gave me the chance to share individual educational experiences with the students of such diverse backgrounds. I was amazed to hear their experiences to be so similar to mine in terms of support from the school. I have accepted an offer at Largo Medical Center Emergency Department as a part of their Fall StaRN Residency class. I think Jersey College has fully prepared me for my first step into this incredible profession. My advice to anyone that is on the fence if they should apply or not is to DO IT! Always bet on yourself! You never know what the outcome could be if you don’t try! The juice will be worth the squeeze."

"My favorite and most valuable resource during my time as a student was, by far, the faculty and my teachers. They were willing to break down what I needed to understand and be successful. They were always willing to assist me when I really needed it."

" I chose to attend Jersey College for both my LPN and RN Bridge programs because of the reception I received from the front office all the way throughout my enrollment process. They were so hospitable – the layout of the facilities and the layout of the lessons favored my life as a full-time CNA during the PN program and a fulltime LPN during the Bridge program. JC accommodated what I needed to be successful and continue to fulfill my normal obligations and responsibilities.

The environment at Jersey College prepared me. You are not spoon fed the information, and I had to start thinking critically immediately once I entered the program – which I had to do as soon as I entered the field and continue to do now at my current jobs."

As an RN at Mental Health Resource Center of Jacksonville, I work with patients who are dealing with mental/emotional crises. We are there to help stabilize them and help them become happy and productive members of society. It’s really a win-win situation for me and the patient as I get to see them get better and become happier and get back to their normal selves. I also work at Community Hospice of Jacksonville which is a compassionate organization that takes care of patients with terminal diagnoses. We consider the time that these patients have left a gift and we help them live this time to its fullest, ensuring comfort, and helping that patients achieve what they want up until their last minutes.

My favorite and most valuable resource during my time as a student was, by far, the faculty and my teachers. They were willing to break down what I needed to understand and be successful. They were always willing to assist me when I really needed it. My advice for future students is - one step at a time, breathe, and always keep moving forward!"

"I chose to become a nurse late in my twenties, after working for many different companies and doing different types of work. I realized that what I wanted to do was be part of something bigger. To make a difference in the world by helping others.

My education at Jersey prepared me to set my goals to get me to where I am today. I had influential and supportive instructors that enabled me to learn and explore the proper avenues that lead me to my ongoing success.

My message to aspiring nurses is: don’t give up. Nursing school is tough. You will sacrifice your time, sleep, your families but, the endless opportunities will be your reward for all your hard work. There are many avenues that will open for you as a nurse that you may not even imagine. Focus on the goal, one day at a time."
