Opportunities
The Jersey College RN program prepares students for a range of exciting career opportunities. RNs can work in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, schools, and community health centers. Upon graduation and successfully passing their licensing exam, students will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a nursing career.
The current demand for RNs is high, and it is projected to continue to grow in the coming years according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). RNs are needed across the United States, and the profession offers many advantages, including job security, competitive salaries, and the ability to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of registered nurses is projected to grow 6 percent from 2021 to 2031. This growth is due to several factors, including an increased emphasis on preventative care, the aging of the baby boomer population, and advances in medical technology.
The RN program is designed to prepare students for their nursing careers. In addition to the rigorous academic curriculum, we also focus on developing our students' personal and communication skills, as these are essential components of the nursing profession. Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and enter the workforce as competent, compassionate, and confident RNs.

The Cost of Attendance (“COA”) is a technical term utilized to provide an estimate of the total amount of a student’s educational expenses during their enrollment. The components of COA are: (x) tuition and fees (books, course materials, supplies, and equipment) (“Direct College Expenses”); and (y) an allowance for (i) transportation; (ii) miscellaneous personal expenses; (iii) living expenses (including food and housing costs); (iv) a professional license and (v) dependent care and/or disability accommodations, where necessary (“Life Expenses”). This website only provides information related to Direct College Expenses; it does not include Life Expenses.
How To Finance Your Education
Financing an education can be a challenge and we are committed to helping our students find the financial resources they need to pursue their career goals. As part of this commitment, Jersey College participates in the Federal Student Aid program, which offers Pell Grants and Stafford Loans to students who qualify.
To begin the financial aid process, students should start by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) . This form helps to determine eligibility for financial aid programs. Our Financial Aid Planners are available to assist students with completing the FAFSA and navigating the financial aid process.
In addition to federal financial aid, there are other options for financing an education, such as private loans, scholarships, and grants. Our Financial Aid Planners can provide information and assistance on these options as well.
Please keep in mind that tuition and fees are subject to change. Total estimated tuition and fees are based on an estimated education plan. Students taking longer to graduate and/or enrolling in additional terms will incur additional term-based fees. Students who repeat coursework will incur additional tuition charges based on the cost of repeated coursework.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is an ADN different from an LPN?
Yes, an ADN is different from an LPN.
An ADN is an Associate Degree in Nursing, which is a two-year degree that prepares graduates to become registered nurses (RNs). On the other hand, an LPN is a licensed practical nurse. LPNs graduate from a certificate program that typically takes about one year to complete, such as the LPN program offered by Jersey College. LPNs work under the supervision of RNs and physicians, while RNs with an ADN degree generally have more opportunities for career advancement and higher salaries.
Learn more in our LPN vs. RN guide.
-
Is an ADN the same as an RN?
An ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) is a type of nursing degree that can lead to becoming an RN (Registered Nurse).
ADN programs typically take 2-3 years to complete and focus on the core nursing courses needed to become an RN, whereas a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program is a 4-year degree that includes additional general education courses and additional nursing coursework.
Once a student completes either an ADN or BSN program and passes the NCLEX-RN exam, they are eligible to become a licensed RN.
